Get Yourself Together

A few weeks ago Craig Groeschel from the swerve blog talked about some of his favorite quotes. One that he mentioned has been ringing through my mind ever since.

I’ll get back to that.

I go a lot of places and interact with a lot of different people. Some people I see, talk to, and hang out with everyday. A lot of the time it’s not by choice, it’s just that our schedules seem to collide every week. Lately I’ve been asking how come some of the people I interact with haven’t became christians? How the heck haven’t they came to church with me before? Why hasn’t God used me to witness to them?

Ok, let’s go to that quote. Curry R. Blake said this:

“If the Gospel isn’t touching others, it hasn’t touched you.”

Ouch. What do you mean the Gospel hasn’t touched me? I’m a christian, I’m saved. It really is a tough concept. Maybe something that’s going on with me is keeping my friends from being reached. Maybe I’m holding back from what I feel I need to do. Or maybe we simply need to just seek God more than we already are. I know that I’m going to chase after God as hard as I can so that the people around me can be reached.
